Concrete Sensors: Real-Time Concrete Strength & Temperature Monitoring by DEWALT

Presented on: Dec 6, 2023 12:00 PM CST

The use of sensors in concrete to measure and monitor it’s physical characteristics is becoming more widespread in construction. The real time data collected can improve the quality and safety of structures and give us the ability to act quickly to mitigate potential quality issues and progress with construction schedules. Temperature monitoring can be used in two distinct applications: Thermal Monitoring of mass concrete and Strength Tracking for concrete curing decision making. Both of these applications and their importance in Engineering Specifications will be discussed in this presentation.

Presented by: Siobhán Sawyer – VP – Field Technical Services

Siobhán has a B.Eng in Civil Engineering from Queens University Belfast , Ireland. In her early career she worked as a Structural Design Engineer in Florida for 8 years with extensive experience in concrete restoration along with steel, concrete and timber design on mainly military facilities. She then shifted her career into the Field Technical Sales arena and specifically with post installed anchoring products. She has been working at DEWALT for 12 years and has built a Field Technical Team to support not only the anchoring products but also new Construction Technology products relevant to the Concrete Trades.
