The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) celebrated the opening of Phase I of the O’Donnell Athenaeum with a ribbon-cutting for the new Crow Museum of Asian Art location. This Phase I building will serve as the anchor museum for the soon-to-be UT Dallas Art Museums.
University leaders also broke ground on a performance hall and music building, part of the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology, set to open in fall 2026. This cultural complex will unfold in three phases:
- Phase I: The UT Dallas Art Museums—a 57,000-square-foot space that more than doubles the Crow Museum’s current gallery space.
- Phase II: A performance hall and music building featuring a 680-seat hall, outdoor performance area, studios, classrooms, and more.
- Phase III: A future museum building and parking structure serving both the Athenaeum and campus.
Led by Morphosis and local partner GFF, this ambitious project is designed to enrich the cultural landscape at UT Dallas.
