Premier resource for practicing structural engineers

Schaefer, a 49-year-old structural engineering firm, relocated its 20+ team members to 235 North Fourth Street in the Warehouse District to accommodate future growth projections. The new location officially opened on April 22, 2025.

“Nearly 20 years since we joined the Columbus, Ohio community, we’ve added 20+ local team members with the intent to double in this new space. We want to grow with Columbus – providing design for structures that support and reflect our region’s specific needs and goals,” said Schaefer President Greg Riley. “We’re excited to cut the ribbon on our new office that we believe will continue to attract new people, excite our clients, and inspire our team.”

Schaefer occupies the entire 6,800 sq ft space on the top floor of the three-story building, with views of the downtown skyline. Team members enjoy an open concept office with several spaces for closed, collaborative work. They also have access to two shared amenity spaces: a rooftop with sweeping views of downtown, and a multi-use first-floor space for team trainings and welcoming clients. With a focus on growth, the new space is designed to accommodate double the amount of current local team members.

Schaefer announced its plans to relocate in December 2024. The local office previously resided at 937 West 3rd Avenue in the Grandview neighborhood. The 100+ person structural engineering firm also has offices in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Phoenix, Arizona, and designs permanent and temporary structures nationally.
