The 2022 SEI Standards Series will preview ASCE 7-22 as a 5-part series that reviews the changes from ASCE 7-16. This unique program includes a dialogue between the leaders and experts who develop ASCE 7 and a detailed technical presentation on the specific changes and three main hazards – Seismic, Wind & Tornado, and Snow/Rain. The 2016 edition of ASCE 7, Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures (ASCE 7-16), has three published supplements. Supplement 1 was published on December 11, 2018, and was adopted into the 2021 International Building Code. Supplements 2 and Supplement 3 have been recently published, and all three are available in the ASCE Library as free downloads.

  • ASCE/SEI 1, Standard for Geotechnical Analysis, Design, Construction, Inspection and Monitoring of Nuclear Safety-Related Structures,
  • ASCE/SEI 4, Seismic Analysis of Safety-Related Nuclear Structures, and
  • ASCE/SEI 43, Seismic Design Criteria for Structures, Systems, and Components in Nuclear Facilities

The NCSEA Structural Engineering Summit has a long history of bringing the structural engineering community together to network, learn, and celebrate the successes of our profession. It would have been difficult for the Summit to deliver on that purpose in October as originally planned. As a result, NCSEA has postponed the Summit – both the live event in New York and the virtual event – to February of 2022.
